By the end of the summer this year we will have experienced three supermoons. Today, August 10 2014 with be the biggest supermoon yet. The first summer supermoon this year was July 12th and the next one will be on September 9th.
Just how far away will the moon be from the earth. Well according to National geographic: 221,765 miles away. It will appear 16 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than usual. This rare event will not occur again until 2034, so you bet I will be out there sky gazing. The best time to see the full moon in all of it’s awesome bigness will be just after it rises.
